Kip Keino led the African Revolution in distance running by becoming Kenya's first distance Olympic gold medalist when he won the 1968 1500m over Jim Ryun in what was widely seen as a colossal upset. He also won silver in the Mexico City 5000m.
Keino won the 1972 Munich Olympic 3000m steeplechase and finished second in the 1500m.
In a lengthy career, Mark McKoy won 110m high hurdles gold for Canada at the Barcelona Olympic Games in 1992, as well as at the Commonwealth Games in 1982 and 1986.
Editor's note: I bought Keino a beer at the 2005 Helsinki World Championships. I'm just sayin'!
