With 100 runners anticipated, this became an environmental issue as there was concern about trail degradation due to these runners running up what are meant to be hiking trails.

Race organizers were shocked when 423 participants showed up!

A work party was held to repair and upgrade the trails after the race; I greatly enjoyed participating in this communal effort.
