In what was likely one of the top 5 dual meet performances in University of Oregon history, Oregon won by a lopsided score of 117-37 over Oregon State.
Part of what this meet is remembered for is that in the week before the meet, Oregon State's coach Berny Wagner expressed concern about the sportsmanship of some Oregon fans. As the fans rose in appreciation for both Pre and Ebba, they also raised their sportsmanship game by saluting Ebba in such a way that he would never forget it.
