Stanford's Bernie Nelson won the high hurdles in 14.5 and UCLA's Bob Seaman won the 880 in 1:52.
Oregon's future Olympic bronze medalist Bill Dellinger won the 2-mile in 9:05.0, while future Olympic legend Rafer Johnson won the 220y low hurdles in 23.4. USC won the mile relay in 3:13.1.
In the field events, Washington's Jerry Hilton won the pole vault at 13'6" and UCLA's Hal Miller won the high jump at 6'5". Charlie Butt (Cal) won the shot put measured, interestingly, in eighths: 57' 8 7/8".
Bob Voiles of USC won the javelin at 216-9, while USC's Rink Babka won the discus with a throw of 179-8.5. UCLA's Dick Knaub won the broad jump in 24-10.25.
