There are 3 pairs of Elites in my collection.

The highlight of this meet was supposed to be a matchup between Steve Ovett and Sebastian Coe.

However, much drama surrounded this possible race and eventually, neither runner made it to Eugene, each citing injuries.

This left the door open for others to shine.
